Beyblade is a line of spinning-top toys originally developed by Takara, first released in Japan in July 1999, along with its debut series. Following Takara's merger with Tomy in 2006, Beyblades are now developed by Takara Tomy. The toys are designed to be launched by a launcher into a dish-like arena called a Beystadium, where they battle each other until one stops spinning. Beyblades are typically made of metal or plastic and have three main parts: the top, the bit chip, and the energy ring.
