Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) is the oldest and largest university in Puebla, Mexico. It was founded on May 9, 1578, by the Jesuits and is the third oldest university in the Americas. The university has a total enrollment of over 85,000 students and offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. BUAP is a member of the Asociación de Universidades Públicas y Autónomas de México (ANUIES) and the Asociación Iberoamericana de Universidades Estatales (AUIP).
