The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is a Maharatna government-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. It is engaged in the transmission of bulk power through a pan-Indian network of Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) transmission lines and substations. POWERGRID is the largest transmission utility in India and one of the largest in the world. It owns and operates 178,180 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and 275 substations with a transformation capacity of 512,601 MVA.
