Logo Colour Palette Extractor — frequently asked questions

How accurate are the extracted colours?
The tool reads the rendered pixels directly, so the values are exact for the image supplied. Colours are grouped so near-identical shades from anti-aliasing do not crowd out the real brand colours.
What is the contrast ratio for?
It shows whether text in that colour would be readable on white or black, using the WCAG contrast formula. 4.5:1 or higher passes AA for body text.
Can I use these brand colours in my own work?
The colour values themselves are not protected, but the logos are trademarks of their owners. Check how you are allowed to use a brand mark before publishing.
