Akatsuki (暁, meaning "dawn" or "daylight") was a secret organization that appeared in the second part of the Japanese anime and manga series Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. It was a highly skilled and powerful group of ninja who were feared throughout the ninja world. The Akatsuki was founded by Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato, three childhood friends who grew up during the Second Shinobi World War. They witnessed the horrors of war firsthand and believed that peace could only be achieved through force. The Akatsuki's goal was to capture all nine tailed beasts, powerful creatures that could be used to create a weapon of mass destruction that would bring the ninja world to its knees.
