EXO (stylized in all caps) is a South Korean-Chinese boy group based in Seoul, South Korea, formed by SM Entertainment in 2011. The group debuted in 2012 with twelve members divided into two sub-units, Exo-K (Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun) and Exo-M (Xiumin, Lay, Chen, Kris, Luhan, and Tao). EXO is known for its musical versatility and experimentation with a wide range of genres, including K-pop, R&B, hip hop, EDM, electropop, and dance-pop. The group has achieved widespread international success, selling over 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music groups in the world.
