Responsible Care is a global, voluntary initiative within the chemical industry that aims to continuously improve safety, health, and environmental performance. It was established in Canada in 1985 and has since been adopted by chemical associations in over 60 countries, representing nearly 90% of global chemical production. The initiative is based on ten guiding principles that cover areas such as process safety, product stewardship, community outreach, and employee training.
